Great stories are built over time

Our history

Haudecœur is first and foremost a FAMILY story that began in 1932 in La Courneuve, where the company's production sie is still based today.

At the time, La Courneuve's market gardens were gradually giving way to factories and housing. The area attracted a growing working population from an increasingly diverse range of backgrounds: first Spain and Italy, then North Africa, Asia, Africa and beyond.

To meet the needs of workers and families settling nearby, Haudecœur gradually expanded its ranges. Already recognised for its expertise in sorting quality seeds, cereals, rice and pulses, the company introduced ingredients central to culinary traditions around the world, including spices, nuts and dried fruit, harissa, brick pastry and many other specialities.

In the early 1990s , Haudecœur reach a significant milestone: it became the first company in the food industry to offer major retailers products specifically aimed at consumers of North African, African, Asian and Caribbean origin.

True to its mission, the company travels the world to select the finest products which are then processed and packed at its own site.

Over time, the business has added new expertise, by bringing in brands and partner companies recognised in their respective markets.

Today, still based in La Courneuve, where it all began, Haudecœur is the French leader in international products and one of the main importers of fragrant rice in Europe. With 200 employees , 3 production sites and 5 logistics sites , the Group develops and distributes leading brands in world cuisine.
